cultivate17.org is a new, independent reference site launched in October 2026. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to AmericanHort or the Cultivate trade show and conference. It is also not connected to the previous owner of this domain. Around 2017 the domain was the event website for Cultivate’17. When it lapsed it was registered again, and it now hosts this separate, non-commercial project.
What the site covers
- A look back at Cultivate’17 (Columbus, Ohio, July 2017) as reported by the horticulture trade press: hub, CareerUP and a registration note. These pages sit at the old web addresses because trade-press articles from 2017 still link to them.
- Reference pages on the US green industry: major trade shows, horticulture careers and garden trends around 2017.
What the site is not
- It is not the official Cultivate website. For the current show, registration, exhibiting or education, use AmericanHort’s Cultivate page or cultivateevent.org.
- Nothing here can be booked or bought. There are no forms, ads, affiliate links or analytics.
- It uses no logos or branding of AmericanHort or the show.
How facts are sourced
Every fact, figure, date and name on these pages comes from a published source that was opened and read while the page was written: trade publications, official organizer pages, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, university horticulture departments and Wikipedia. Each article ends with a numbered Sources list, and the small numbers in the text point to it. Where sources disagree or leave something out, the page says so instead of filling the gap. Charts and diagrams are original drawings made from the cited figures.
